Green Peas & Mushroom Pulav

Ingreidents:

Basmati rice 2 cups, washed and soaked for 15 minutes Green peas 1 cup (frozen)

Mushrooms 1 cup sliced White onion 1 small, thinly sliced or chopped Ginger 1 inch piece, chopped Garlic 1 pod, chopped Mint leaves 2 TBSP, chopped Turmeric powder ½ tsp Garam masala ½ tsp Fennel seeds ¼ tsp Oil/Butter 2 tsp Salt as needed Water enough to cook rice

Method: Wash and soak the rice for 15-20 minutes. Heat a deep bottomed pan at medium high, and sauté onions, ginger, garlic and fennel seeds for 2-3 minutes. Reduce flame to medium and add the turmeric powder, garam masala, and mint leaves. Cook this for 2 more minutes. Now add the green peas, mushrooms, & salt, mix well and add rice. Add 3 ½ to 4 cups of water. Mix and cook covered for 15 minutes, giving occasional stirs or until 90% of water get evaporated. Switch off stove and fluff rice using a fork. Enjoy with raita or any curries of your choice.
