Orange Rice–Naringi Pulao

Ingredients:

Basmati Rice: 1 cup

Orange juice: 1 cup

Sugar: 3-4 tsp

Ghee: 2 tsp

Saffron: 1 pinch

Cardamom: 1

Cinnamon: 1

Black pepper: 2

Clove: 1

Almond slices: 1 tsp

Orange food color:1/2 tsp (optional)

Water: 1/2 cup

Salt: To taste

Method: Wash and soak Basmati rice for 20 min. Heat ghee in a pan, add cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, & cloves. Drain all the water from the rice, add in kadai, & mix well. Add 1/2 cup water, salt. Cover and cook for 3/4 min or till it gets semi cooked. In a bowl add orange juice, sugar, orange food color, and combine well. Add this mixture into rice and stir well. Cover and cook for 7-8 minutes. Garnish with almond slices and saffron. Serve hot tangy orange rice !!
