For masala: 1 medium onion sliced 1tsp crushed garlic 1 small tomato chopped 1/2 tsp pepper powder 1/2 tsp chilly powder 1/4 tsp garam masala powder 1 sprig curry leaves 1/4 cup water 3+1 tbsp coconut oil Salt to taste

Method: Marinate the cleaned fish with all the ingredients listed under marination. In a pan, pour 3 tbsp of oil and fry the fish. Keep aside. In the same oil which you fried the fish add a tbsp of oil. Splutter the curry leaves. Sauté the onion by adding a little bit of salt, till really soft and golden brown in color. At this stage add in the garlic and sauté for 2 minutes. Add the spice powders. Then add in the tomatoes and let it cook till the tomatoes are soft and all mashed up. Add salt. Add quarter cup of water to this and mix well. Slide in the fried fish and mix well making sure you don’t break the fish. The fish should be covered well with the masala. Close the lid and cook for a minute. Serve warm.
