Mysore Bonda/Ulundu Bonda

Ingredients:

1.5 cups of urad dal/uzhunnu parippu

4 tbsp of fresh coconut pieces (thenga kothu)

2 green chillies

1 tbsp whole black peppercorns

Salt to taste

Oil for deep frying

A sprig of Curry leaves

Method: Soak he urad dal in water for about 2 hours. Grind with little water to form a smooth paste along with green chillies and sal. Do not add too much waer or else the bondas will become too oily. Add peppercorns, coconut pieces, and curry leaves to the ground urad dal batter and mix well. he Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan and add spoonfuls of batter into it. Fry until the bondas are golden brown on all sides. Drain on a kitchen towel. Serve hot with tea or coffee!
